Five Crazy Dwarfs
Valhala's first album: twelve instrumental compositions rooted in classic rock.
Anyone who read this story on the cover of Valhala's first album
listened with curiosity to discover what it was supposed to mean... Twelve instrumental
compositions are based on the foundations of “old rock”, with touches of jazz and
classical elements. Each of them forms a homogeneous whole with
interesting and sometimes surprising solo passages.
Valhala's first album represents the final work of the “five crazy dwarfs”: Jodl
Gazvoda – leader and guitarist, Uroš Rakovec, guitar, Domen Rakovec,
keyboards, Sergej Jereb, bass, and Ivo Golmajer, drums. These are dwarfs who
try to fight against the darkness through their music. In their own way, they have
clothed the messages of ancient myths in their music, which they carry as a positive message
to everyone who listens to them and to everyone who is sufficiently open within
to understand that mythological truths are eternal, experienced and confirmed
again and again, and therefore eternal in what they represent. Just like music. Valhala's music is
full of this positive message and bright energy and demands
attentive listening. (Pan Records, Studio 26, RTV Ljubljana, 1995
